An energetic and exciting Music Teacher is required to teach Music to our juniors and run the Junior Choir at Cowan House Co-Educational Preparatory School. Candidates should have a teaching qualification, but a practicing Musician will be considered if they have prior experience working with children. The successful candidate should have the confidence to work independently and a willingness to be flexible.

Minimum requirements:

  • A vision and understanding to facilitate fun, interactive practice with creative learning
  • Initiative, enthusiasm, creativity, teamwork and energy

The successful candidates will be required to:

  • Work closely with our academic staff in the classrooms 3 days per week
  • Participate fully in the extra-curricular program
  • Live in Boarding and assist with Boarding House duties

Preference will be given to applicants currently working towards a career in teaching in the Intermediate Phase and studying through UNISA or other recognised correspondence learning institutions.

A successful Teacher Assistant should have pride in being a role model for young children and a love for seeing children thrive in all aspects in school life.  We welcome your application if you are interested in being considered for a Teacher Assistant position in the Senior Primary phases or for children with special needs.  

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Work closely with our academic staff in the classroom daily
  • Offer general Teaching Assistance support to a phase or specific grade

OR

  • Offer dedicated support to a child / children with special needs

Preference will be given to applicants currently working towards a career in teaching in the Intermediate Phase and studying through UNISA or other recognised correspondence learning institutions.
